Entry Requirements

  • Undergraduate: 10+2
  • Graduate:16 years of education required (10+2+4)
  • Diplomas: 15/16 years of education required (10+2+3/4)
  • Strong academic background
  • Good scores in entrance exams like GRE, GMAT, IELTS etc

List of Documents required to apply US Universities 

  • Recommendation letters (from 3 lectures)
  • GRE/GMAT/IELTS Score Xerox. (Also you have to report the test scores officially)
  • Transcripts (Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Bachelor’s Degree certificate (If available)
  • SSC/10th or Equivalent Certificate
  • 12th/ intermediate or Equivalent certificates
  • SOP (Statement of Purpose)
  • Study certificate or Job experience certificate
  • Photo Copies of first and last pages of your passport
  • Copies and proofs of all your other activities (Ex. Paper presentations, your organizing skills in your symposiums etc.)

Costs

  • Estimated living expenses per month are around CAN$400-800
  • As far as course fees are concerned, expect to budget around CAN$6000 to CAN$17,500 per year for undergraduate courses, with graduate courses coming in on average from CAN$6500 to CAN$33,000 per year.

Scholarships

Scholarships, Grants, Fellowships are based on the student’s academic performance of international students. Tuition Fee waivers are provided but are strictly merit based so students don’t have to fill any separate form like federal students can do so for availing need based scholarships.
Further, Financial Aid funding is also granted at PG level but again this strictly depends on the students’ credentials.

There are various types of scholarships offered.

Fellowship scholarship – This scholarship is awarded on the student’s ability, competence and performance.

Graduate Assistantship Scholarship – Is awarded for the students who involve in teaching or research assistantship. It can be given as cash, stipend or fee waiver. This is normally called RA or TA

Visa Procedure

Before going to Canada for studies international students are required to get a Student Authorization Visa . Students are recommended to have at least two months before the commencement of the study programs for the visa procedures to be processed. The overseas students heading for Canada for studies should submit the completed application kit to the immigration section of the Canadian High commission, which is a general procedure.
